Position Title
Gilmer County Administrative Assistant
SummaryThis vital position coordinates functions and operations with Extension staff and Program Assistants. It works cooperatively with all Agents and is administratively responsible to the County Extension Coordinator and District Extension Director. The County Extension Administrative Assistant will assist in managing the many resources offered by a county office and distribute time as needed for the satisfactory delivery of the county program.
Responsibilities- Maintain office hours to assist clientele and conduct day–to–day operations; provide access to Extension resources and services such as printed publications, online content, educational materials, and sample submission for diagnostic services.
- Facilitate conference calls and video conferences connecting clientele with County Agents and State Specialists.
- Maintain appropriate records for fiscal reporting, prepare accounting forms, reconcile local Extension budgets, and keep financial records current.
- Maintain the office filing system, coordinate office tasks with other county staff, and manage office inventory of publications and supplies.
- Assist the County Extension Coordinator with personnel procedures; budget allocated funds within limits and seek additional resources.
- Perform specific tasks and assume leadership for certain program areas as directed by the District Extension Director or County Extension Coordinator.
- Adhere to the UGA Extension Equal Opportunity plan and perform other duties as assigned.
- Drive as needed to carry out job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Basic knowledge of Quick Books.
- Familiarity with 4‑H programs and AG‑related information.
