Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing program applications, and inventorying supplies. (35%)
  • Create original content for and assist in the development of departmental publications and promotional materials. (20%)
  • Create original content for social media accounts and analyze social media analytics. (15%)
  • Update alumni records and enter pertinent information in the CRM system. (10%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned. (20%)

Position Summary: The University of Georgia Washington Semester Program is the university’s only undergraduate DC-based program that takes place during the fall and spring terms, and its only program open to students in all majors. Established in 2008, the Washington Semester Program enrolls up to 32 undergraduate students each term. Interns assist with recruitment, marketing, applications, and various administrative tasks, working up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student at the University of Georgia.
  • Proficiency with Mac OS and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using photo editing and publications software is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Washington, DC is preferred.

Physical Demands: Sit at a desk for multiple hours; lifting up to 20 pounds.

Background Investigation: Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check and confirmation of credentials. A pre-employment drug test may apply for high-risk responsibilities.
