Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Open Scholarship and Data Services (OSDS) and in close coordination with the Director of Academic Engagement, the AI & Data Studio Coordinator manages the UGA Libraries’ AI & Data Studio by providing essential operational and programmatic leadership. The AI & Data Studio is a dynamic, interdisciplinary space where students, faculty, and researchers explore AI tools, work with data, and engage with each other to enhance knowledge and understanding.

The Coordinator supports public services and programming by overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the AI & Data Studio, ensuring alignment with campus needs, coordinating outreach and educational events, and providing continuous support to enhance AI literacy and user engagement. Serves as the operational spine of the Studio, ensuring it functions as a coherent, welcoming, and well‑run environment for everyone who walks through the door.

Core responsibilities span space and logistics management, cross‑program coordination, collaboration with Libraries Marketing & Communications, and oversight of the AI Ambassadors peer support program.

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Comfort supervising student employees or volunteers, or demonstrated potential to do so effectively.
  • Ability to work across organizational units or support multiple supervisors or stakeholders.
  • Comfort with technology and genuine willingness to learn new tools and platforms.

  • Familiarity with AI tools, data literacy concepts, or digital scholarship.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, content management systems, or project management tools.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for the mission of academic libraries and the evolving role of technology in education and research.
  • Familiarity with event coordination, marketing support, or communications.
Duties / Responsibilities Space & Operations Management (25%)
  • Manage the operations of the AI and Data Studio by shaping the services offered, setting priorities, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Manage reservations, scheduling, and logistics for AI & Data Studio spaces, including consultation rooms, workshop areas, maker spaces, and collaborative work spaces.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Studio visitors, orienting users to available resources, equipment, and services from both library teams.
  • Maintain Studio equipment, supplies, and technology resources in coordination with Libraries IT and facilities staff.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, signage, and user‑facing guides for Studio spaces and tools.
  • Manage Studio usage data and compile regular reports to inform strategic planning, assessment, and improvements.
  • Coordinate distribution of access to premium licenses for events, workshops, and programming.
Cross‑Team Workshop & Program Coordination (25%)
  • Collect and organize workshop, program, and event information from librarians and staff across both OSDS and Academic Engagement, ensuring accuracy and completeness for promotional purposes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Studio and UGA Libraries Marketing & Communications, submitting workshop details, promotional copy, and scheduling information on behalf of both teams.
