Position Summary:

This position provides administrative support to the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and serves as an integral member of the staff support team. The position provides primary administrative support for the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and the Vice Provost for Academic and Community Engagement. Working collaboratively with other staff, this position helps ensure efficient and effective service delivery within the Provost’s Office.

The position routinely handles confidential matters and must exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism.

Competencies:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional administrative support in a fast-paced, executive-level office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and follow through on time-sensitive assignments.
  • Ability to work independently, ask appropriate questions, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread and prepare accurate documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook calendar management, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment with confidential information.
Physical Demands:

Normal office functions, including:
Walking short distances on the UGA campus to pick up and deliver time-sensitive items;
Lifting/carrying boxes of approximately 15-20 pounds;
Bending, lifting, and stooping for filing.
