Position Information Business Title Student Office Assistant Special Instructions to Applicants Applicants must be able to start immediately and work through the academic year. A minimum of 10 hours per week is required. Posting Number STD Department Summary This position is responsible for assisting the staff in the Transportation and Parking Services office to provide parking guidance through permit issuance, citation payment, and parking inquiries, issuing fleet rentals, and on-campus transportation inquiries.
Main duties include welcoming and assisting faculty, staff, students, and visitors, answering telephone calls, corresponding to emails, and keeping the front desk clean and organized. Other duties of the Student Office Assistant include using available resources to direct guests, accurately and appropriately logging information, processing payments, and scanning, copying, and filing documents. Additional duties may be assigned as needed throughout the semester.

Blackout dates to support the Event Parking staff include one athletic event, Fall Commencement, and Spring Commencement. Job Profile Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provides administrative support in an office setting, including tasks such as answering phones and emails, responding to customer inquiries, writing communications, and supporting staff with day-to-day operations. Level Summary Performs basic tasks and assists with administrative or operational duties under supervision. Roles are entry-level and aimed at providing exposure to workplace environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications Enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or immediate upcoming semester. Able to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines. Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools. Departments may have specific minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications Prior office or customer service experience
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs Call Center experience Database experience
Working Condition/Physical Demands
:
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
