Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated history of success raising philanthropic gifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of major‑gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, industry partners, and private foundations.
  • Use GAIL to ensure all prospects have a documented and strategic plan.
  • Participate in prospect management meetings within the College and with the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.
  • Collaborate with units within the College of Pharmacy and across campus to engage prospects.
  • Work with College of Pharmacy academic departments, faculty, and programs to support and guide them through the philanthropic process.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and relevant proposals, presentations, and fundraising materials for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects.
  • Conduct telephone and/or correspondence preparation and follow‑up.
  • Manage a pre‑allocated travel budget and plan trips strategically.
  • Attend College of Pharmacy events (White Coat Ceremony, Pinning Ceremony, Commencement, Homecoming Reunion), Development & Alumni Relations team meetings, occasional football games, and professional pharmacy meetings that relate to prospect engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and generate creative solutions.
  • Proficient computer literacy and skill using programs for preparation and dissemination of communication materials.
  • Ability/willingness to interface with donors by phone, virtually, and in person, and through written communication.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing and editing effective correspondence, proposals, and solicitation materials.
  • Strong oral communication skills for persuasive presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Proven interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality and work well with others.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multi‑phase projects from inception to completion, building consensus among team members and balancing multiple concurrent priorities.
Physical Demands
  • Work in a standard office environment.
  • Travel in and out of state; driving as needed.
  • Work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Use electronic mail, telephone, face‑to‑face discussions, and paper forms.
  • Communicate effectively in writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Organize and establish priorities; remember details; multitask.
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
