Compensation and Location
Compensation Range: $97,000 – $105,000 USD. Remote role; based in Eastern US near major airport. Travel up to 50% of the time.
OverviewSenior Construction Consultant to join our U.S. team, reporting to the Director of Development Advisory. Provide independent construction risk advisory, loan monitoring, and due diligence services across diverse asset classes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent construction risk advisory and due diligence services.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, contracts, and approvals.
- Conduct pre‑development due diligence.
- Lead construction loan monitoring: site inspections, evaluate progress, validate draw requests, assess cost‑to‑complete, and provide funding recommendations.
- Prepare monthly reports covering project status, financial performance, schedule adherence, and emerging risks.
- Analyze contractor pay applications, invoices, change orders, RFI logs, and contingency utilization.
- Manage relationships with lenders, developers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders; represent Altus as a trusted advisor.
- Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- Several years of hands‑on experience overseeing or consulting on construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, construction practices, controls, budgets, schedules, and contracts across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.
- Analytical and risk assessment skills – evaluate budgets, pay applications, change orders, and cost‑to‑complete forecasts.
- Effective communication skills – build credibility with stakeholders and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Independence and accountability – thrive in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, balance travel and priorities.
- Excellent organizational and responsiveness abilities.
