Viridan Group seeks experienced Construction Inspector to oversee and ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of line, substation, and fiber optic construction related to power and energy infrastructure projects throughout the state. This position requires a willingness to travel, demonstrated expertise in construction oversight, and project coordination abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee & report on the work performed by subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and safe/timely project completion.
  • Monitor progress, and process changes in coordination with the Contractor.
  • Ensure the documentation and security of Viridan assets utilized by the Contractor.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the public, landowners, customers, and employees; promptly report any emergent issues.
  • Submit timely requests for clearance points and hot-line tags (in collaboration with the Viridan Line Construction Coordinator).
  • Conduct NESC and final inspections for all projects.
  • Maintain open communication with the Viridan Line and Substation Construction Coordinators regarding project setbacks, modifications, or requests.
  • Maintain detailed project notes.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret GDOT, engineering maps, plats, and property information.
  • Coordinate with the public, personnel, and contractors to resolve resident/business concerns.
  • Consult with design engineering to ensure the precise execution of the project design.
  • Maintain a daily journal and complete all requisite project documentation.
The Must-Haves (General Requirements):
  • Be a US citizen with a valid driver's license.
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • You must be ready for overnight/statewide travel when needed.
  • Ability to read design drawings and make sure everything is built to spec.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • You must keep a daily journal and document electronically.
  • Proven experience in civil aspects of construction
  • Great at troubleshooting and suggesting solutions. Nice to Have (Desirable Qualifications):
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Know-how and experience in quality assurance.
