Overview
Visitor Services Team Logistics Coordinator (TLC) – part-time, non-exempt, 0.49 FTE. This role supports weekend operations (Saturdays and Sundays 8am to 5pm) with additional flexible hours during weekdays to total 11 hours. The position involves coordinating logistics for Visitor Services management, rentals, events, and the gift shop, and supervising volunteers and student workers as needed.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the logistics of weekend operations including Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm coverage and supervision of the Visitor Services Welcome Desk, Gift Shop, and Porcelain & Decorative Arts Museum operations. Train new student workers, ensure tasks are completed, and fill in for staff and volunteers as needed. Implement standard operating procedures for all emergency situations.
- Complete the Saturday and Sunday Duty reports, note issues or emergencies, and document follow-up actions.
- Implement Visitor Services Operation Log and support daily logistics for Visitor Center management, rentals, events, and gift shop activities. Coordinate logistics for rentals and events, manage weekend garden monitoring, set up rental seating floor plans in advance, and verify event signage is correct and prepared in advance.
- Education/Experience – strong project management background with a focus on team development and documentation. Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are expected. Ability to facilitate discussions to identify goals, flexibility, and availability on Fridays and weekends is essential.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities – comfortable using electronic platforms for scheduling and reporting; ability to coordinate and train student workers; willingness and ability to work weekends and evenings.
- Physical Demands – lift 25-50 pound containers; set up tables and chairs; long periods of standing or walking; repetitive motion; ability to reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, kneel; work in varying environmental conditions; driving may be required.
- Other – Position involves trust; may require driving; some roles involve interaction with the public.
