Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licenses): Doctorate in dentistry (e.g., DDS or DMD) from an accredited school; 5 years of related experience;
Active and valid license to practice in the state

Preferred Qualifications (UHC): Completion of Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry (AEGD);
Experience in college health dentistry; A Georgia license (certificate of registration) to practice dentistry In Georgia;
Current DEA and BLS Certification

Position Summary

The PRN Dentist provides age-appropriate emergency, restorative, and preventative dental care to students and eligible members of the University community. They perform routine general dentistry procedures (e.g. endodontics, periodontics, exodontics, prosthodontics, and operative dentistry) after obtaining appropriate privileges. This clinician would provide services in cases where there is a planned absence of one or both of the full-time dental staff, working with hygiene and other staff to offer adequate and seamless access to patients served by the UHC Dental Clinic.

  • Competency with electronic medical records.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards established by the CDC and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards.
  • Interact effectively as a team member to interact effectively with patients, clients, staff, and clinicians.
  • Propensity to work effectively on the UHC team to achieve state-of-the-art health care services for our patient population.

Standing, typing, walking limited distances, moving from sitting to standing frequently, pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, squatting and kneeling as needed.
