Position SummaryThis incumbent provides interior design support to the UGA campus community and the Office of the University Architects for Facilities Planning (OUA). The role supports the Senior Project Manager Interior Designer, leading interior design activities and ensuring design excellence, campus image, and durability. The position involves client relations management and coordination with UGA stakeholders on interior finish and furniture selection for residence halls, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, offices, recreation, and sports facilities.
Appointment is limited term, may be extended if project volume remains high.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
- Knowledge of furniture sourcing and vendor resources
- Basic knowledge of ADA and sustainability
- Excellent written, oral, and graphic communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and results oriented
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Willingness to learn new software technology and processes
- Proficiency with Sketch Up or similar modeling/rendering programs
- Familiarity with Blue Beam Revu software
- Effective client relations management and teamwork across stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High level of customer service
- Experience or knowledge in managing construction projects
- Ability to develop, maintain, and analyze programmatic space/utilization data
Project Support (50%)
- Supports Project Manager Interior Designer on interior design activities.
- Assists with furniture selection, layouts, installation, and relocations, including requisition, dimension verification, inventory, scheduling, documentation, and coordination.
- Provides interior design concepts for minor studies and proposed renovations.
Administrative & Vendor Management (15%)
- Procuring furniture, installing furniture and documenting receipt in UGAmart.
- Obtains and reviews vendor quotes; discusses with vendors; uses statewide contracts for FF&E.
- Schedules meetings with vendors and manufacturers to meet budget and stakeholder needs.
Capital Project Management (25%)
- Manages selection, procurement, scheduling, and installation of FF&E on small capital projects.
- Manages signage and way finding design and installation to meet UGA standards.
Interiors Library & Documentation (5%)
- Maintains interiors library of catalogs and finish samples; archives records of finishes and furnishings.
- Assist with documenting design standards and best practices, tracking performance of furniture and finishes.
Intern Oversight (5%)
- Oversees student interns; delegates tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Stoop, bend, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Sit at a computer for long periods.
- Lift heavy objects; drive when needed.
