A regional health system in Athens, GA, is welcoming Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologists to join a growing, hospital-employed gastroenterology program. This is a growth-driven, permanent recruitment designed to expand the group to four physicians in response to significant community demand and a robust internal referral base.
The practice offers immediate clinical volume, strong administrative support, and a long-term strategic vision that includes expansion of facilities and future ASC development. Both general gastroenterologists and physicians with advanced endoscopy training are encouraged to apply.
Position Highlights- Hospital-employed general or advanced gastroenterology position
- Join a highly productive GI physician, willing and ready to mentor and one senior APP; second APP anticipated
- Strong internal referral network with no volume concerns for incoming physicians
- 2,500+ referrals annually with two rural facilities feeding referrals into Athens
- At least one advanced GI desired, with expectation of some general GI initially as advanced volume ramps up
- All procedures currently performed at the hospital-based endoscopy center
- Call is currently capped at no more than 1:5, with improvement as the group grows
- Target model moving toward 4:1 endoscopy-to-clinic
- Goal to maximize physician time in endoscopy
- Collegial, supportive environment
- Current physician is a strong mentor, particularly attractive for fellows and early-career physicians
- Highly engaged hospital leadership and administration
- Base salary range: $600,000+, with flexibility upward for high-volume or experienced candidates
- Sign-on and relocation package – split between signing and start date
- wRVU-based incentive structure – upside-only model
