Assistant Professor in Phonetics and Phonology
Position Summary:
The Department of Linguistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Phonetics and Phonology with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The teaching load is four courses per year, including introductory and advanced courses in phonetics and phonology and other courses related to the candidate’s areas of specialization. Additional duties include advising at all levels and service to the department and university.
- Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related discipline completed at the time of appointment.
- Productive research agenda with potential to attract significant external funding.
- Excellent teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Preferred:
Laboratory phonology, speech technology, or corpus and computational methods; collaborative research program.
