Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Human/Youth Development, Sociology, Education, Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Recreation, or a related area.

Position Summary

This position will provide management and oversight of the County 4‑H Program (75%) in cooperation with other staff members. The County 4‑H Program is robust and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for youth. The role works cooperatively with county 4‑H staff to provide oversight, management, and support of the 4‑H program. As needed, the position delivers 4‑H programming in various settings, including in‑school, after school, and at state and district events.

This position is also responsible for coordinating and delivering Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) educational program (25%) in the geographic area, offering programs in nutrition, food safety, parenting, money management, and related subject areas.

The role utilizes expertise from advisory groups, community leaders, public officials, and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and help develop educational programs.

Requirements include frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out‑of‑county meetings. A valid driver’s license and reliable private vehicle are required. Reimbursement for business travel and transportation of others, including 4‑H youth and adult clientele, is provided. 4‑H competitions, overnight camps, and other events at district and state levels necessitate travel and transportation.
