Adjunct Job Announcement

Position: Dental Assisting Adjunct Instructor

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Life Sciences & Public Safety

Reports to: Program Chair for Dental Programs & Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain familiarity with college goals, mission, and long-term plans.
  • Contribute to planning and development processes.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention of students in both programs.
  • Attend required staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
  • Evaluate dental assisting curriculum and educational activities.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
  • Regularly evaluate student achievement and provide student feedback.
  • Assist clinical coordinator with clinic supply; tracking and stocking.
  • Supervise and instruct dental assisting students during clinic.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Education.
  • Certified Dental Assistant through DANB.
  • Expanded Duties Dental Assistant certified through the State of Georgia.
  • One (1) - three years of experience as a CDA.
  • BLS Certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous instructor experience.
  • Familiar with UpScale Assessment.
  • Familiar with Dentrix.
