Additional Schedule Information:
Strict start date of 7/1/2026. Funding for this appointment is supplied through a Fellowship from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for two years. After the first year, the incumbent will report any discoveries or advances that this fellowship has enabled in year 1 (due 7/1/2027), and the success of that report will determine the continuation of funding for the second year.

Responsibilities

Research and Experimentation

  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments related to the core research project.
  • Develop new methodologies and optimize existing protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of results for publication and reporting.

Manuscript and Proposal Writing

  • Draft and revise scientific manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to research proposals and progress reports for funding agencies.

Mentorship and Supervision

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Assist in organizing group meetings and collaborative research activities.

Dissemination and Collaboration

  • Present findings at conferences, seminars, and internal meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on joint research goals.

Lab and Equipment Maintenance

  • Ensure laboratory compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage shared instruments and support inventory of supplies.

Time allocation for responsibilities: 50% research and experimentation, 20% manuscript and proposal writing, 15% mentorship and supervision, 10% dissemination and collaboration, 5% lab and equipment maintenance.
