Position SummaryThe Department of Poultry Science is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach, conduct research, and mentor students. The appointment is a nine‑month academic year, tenure‑track position with a 70% research, 25% teaching, and 5% service allocation. The successful candidate will establish innovative, nationally recognized research and teaching programs that complement existing disciplines and faculty within the department. Potential foci include reproductive physiology, avian fertility, stress physiology, neurophysiology, comparative physiology between poultry and other avian species, and/or embryology.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Establish innovative research and teaching programs (70% of time).
- Obtain extramural funding related to your research and teaching interests (20% of time).
- Guest lecturing for established courses, undergraduate and graduate student mentorship, and student recruitment (5% of time).
Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in poultry/avian science or related field.
Preferred qualifications:
demonstrated record of collaborative research, teaching excellence, extramural grant success, program development, and active mentorship.
