Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
The assistant teacher works with the other members of the teaching team to create a positive, productive, professional environment for the children within their classroom. The responsibilities are determined by the job description and needs of the classroom, as identified by the lead teacher and/or administrators.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/Or CompetenciesProfessionalism;
Working knowledge of young children’s development and developmentally appropriate practice;
On‑going desire and pursuit of additional educational training.
Participate in all activities with children ages birth through five which includes squatting, lifting, sitting on the floor, and standing.
Duties / Responsibilities- 70% – Assist lead teacher with daily activities and interactions with children, providing ongoing supervision.
- 10% – Implementation of planned activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supervision.
- Daily assistance in food service to children and supervision during meal times.
- Daily assistance with diapering and/or toilet training while maintaining adequate supervision during bathroom times.
