Assistant Professor of Poultry​/Avian Physiologist

Position Summary

The Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia seeks an Assistant Professor of Poultry Science. This nine‑month academic‑year tenure‑track position has a 70% research, 25% teaching, and 5% service appointment. The successful candidate will establish innovative, nationally recognized research and teaching programs that complement existing disciplines within the department.

• Establish and lead innovative research programs in areas such as reproductive physiology, avian fertility, stress physiology, neurophysiology, comparative physiology, and embryology.
• Obtain extramural funding related to research and teaching interests that advance poultry/avian science research, education, and sector innovation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners, ensuring excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Guest lecture for established Poultry Science courses, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and participate in student recruitment.

• Must possess a Ph.D. with a background in poultry/avian science.
• Demonstrated record of collaborative research, teaching, extramural grant success, program development, and student mentorship.
• Preferred experience in reproductive physiology, avian fertility assessment, stress physiology, neurophysiology, comparative physiology, or embryology.
