The Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for a tenure‑track position (9 months) in row crop integrated pest management (IPM) with an emphasis on cotton at the Assistant Professor rank. The position is budgeted at 65% research, 30% Extension, and 5% service. We seek candidates with expertise in IPM and sustainable production of row crops.
Duties / Responsibilities- Develop a nationally recognized research and extension program supported by competitive external funding.
- Publish high‑impact research and effectively mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
- Implement a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to solving important problems within the cotton industry.
- Build multistate and international collaborations, including cooperative projects with the UGA Cotton Team.
- Communicate research results to row crop producers, extension agents, and other stakeholders via traditional and digital media.
- Contribute to departmental and university service, professional activities, and outreach.
Ph.D. in Entomology or a related life science discipline.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and Certification- One to two years of postdoctoral experience is preferred.
- Strong record of scholarly achievement and excellent communication skills.
- Expertise in agroecology and IPM theory and practice, including invasive species management, resistance management, applied toxicology, transgenic and molecular approaches, population genetics, landscape ecology, or precision agriculture (including remote sensing).
