This position provides clerical/office support within the Office of Clinical Practice. Position includes independent action and keen judgment in problem-solving.
Responsibilities- Review faculty placement requests; verify and record student criminal background checks, FERPA, ARRI, and Tort forms.
- Coordinate between MFE COE faculty and school partners to secure placements; build positive working relationships with students, faculty, and school partners; aid in resolving sensitive and highly confidential placement issues.
- Ensure certified mentors are located for student placements. Verify mentor teacher information, including certification and current grade band.
- Communicate with students regarding pre-placement requirements, send reminders to complete requirements, and answer placement questions. Send placement confirmations to students, field and program coordinators, mentor teachers, and school administrators.
- Provide the Office of Academic Programs with data for program review, yearly placement numbers for the annual report, and other requests for data necessary for accreditation.
- Update File Maker Pro database for educational field experiences. Provide faculty with semester grade band reports.
- Assist Director and office staff in review of job-embedded placement documentation, including but not limited to negotiation of individual teacher candidate pathways, reference of corresponding MOUs, development of additional grade band placements, collaboration with administration in identifying qualified and suitable mentor teachers, and documenting plans for program supervision and observation.
- Assist in troubleshooting with candidate support teams across placement span.
- Maintain and initiate district/school MOU initiation/renewal process. Manage communications and participants throughout the negotiation process, draft iterations, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with P-12 school contexts and higher education/university processes.
- Data entry; work with databases; input data with accuracy and efficiency.
- Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Organization and time-management skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Use discretion with confidential information.
- Use independent judgment.
- Establish and maintain effective collegial working relationships.
- Multi-task and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office, including Word, Access / File Maker Pro, Excel, and Outlook.
- Typing skills.

- Bend and reach to file documents.
- Lift boxes, etc.
