The Adult Services Librarian provides exemplary customer service while facilitating access to a wide range of information resources. They possess extensive knowledge of print and online materials and assist patrons in using GALILEO databases, employing methodologies for extracting information from such sources. The librarian collaborates with the team to create and deliver a variety of programs and classes that benefit the community, and assists patrons in the computer lab as needed.

All employees within this department serve as U.S. Passport Agents. This position reports to the Head of Adult Services.

Provide exemplary customer service and facilitate access to information resources. Assist patrons in using GALILEO databases and in extracting information from these sources. Collaborate with the team to develop and deliver community programs and classes. Assist patrons in the computer lab and serve as a U.S. Passport Agent. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Adult Services.

Required:

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA‑accredited institution.
• State of Georgia Librarian certification.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to meet U.S. Department of State requirements to become a U.S. Passport agent.

Preferred:

• Public library experience.
• Bilingual ability (English‑Spanish).
