Must be appointed as an Associate or Full Professor, be tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution.
Selection will be based on a minimum of a completed PhD in Food Science or a related field. Candidates are expected to develop and maintain an externally funded Research and Extension program and establish an internationally recognized program in ingredients and food processing technologies related to meat and poultry products.
Responsibilities- Obtain extramural funds to support Research and Extension programs.
- Establish a strong record of scholarly activity and peer‑reviewed publications.
- Direct graduate (PhD and MS) students and postdoctoral associates.
- Develop an Extension program to complement the existing FST and PS Extension programs and meet identified needs of stakeholders.
- Actively participate in service activities in FST, PS, CAES, and UGA, including global programs.
- Collaborate with faculty members across the Colleges of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, and Family and Consumer Sciences, as well as other colleges.
- Completed PhD in Food Science or a related field.
- Evidence of emerging stature as a regional or national authority in poultry and/or meat science.
- Demonstrable record of competitive, externally funded research.
- Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams with industry support.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, product formulation, and processing methods.
- Leading expert in poultry and/or meat science with a focus on ingredient functionality and processing technologies.
- Research that complements but is distinct from current faculty work.
- Demonstrated collaboration with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and commodity groups.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to build collaborative networks for extension and research efforts.
