Position SummaryThe Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia is seeking an Assistant Professor of Poultry Science. This nine‑month academic‑year tenure‑track position involves a 70% research, 25% teaching and 5% service appointment. The successful candidate will establish innovative, nationally recognized research and teaching programs that align with existing departments, contribute to the Department’s scientific portfolio and demonstrate strategic scholarly, teaching and service excellence.
Responsibilities- Establish innovative, nationally recognized research and teaching programs that complement existing disciplines in the department. Potential foci include reproductive physiology, avian fertilization, stress physiology, neurophysiology, comparative poultry and avian physiology, and embryology.
- Obtain extramural funding that advances poultry/avian science research, education and sector innovation.
- Collaborate with faculty and industry, and actively mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Guest lecture in established Poultry Science courses, participate in student recruitment and contribute to department service and outreach.
- Ph.D. in poultry, avian or related physiological science.
- Demonstrated record of collaborative research, teaching, extramural grant success and student mentorship.

Eligible. The appointment is a ten‑year, academic, 9‑month tenure‑track faculty role. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2025. The campus location is Athens, Georgia.
