Position: Assistant Teacher- Part Time (2 positions available)

Assistant Teacher – Part Time (2 positions available)

Position Summary:

The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher works with an Assistant Professor of Instruction / Early Childhood Teacher in a classroom teaching and caring for young children. They provide developmentally appropriate instruction, model best practice for ECEE Teacher Candidates, maintain classroom routines, and communicate with families daily.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and care for young children following developmentally appropriate practices, Early Learning Content Standards, and licensing rules.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to meet children’s developmental and educational needs.
  • Take full responsibility of the classroom for 2 hours per day during the absence of the Assistant Professor of Instruction, including implementing classroom routines and activities.
  • Communicate with families and ECEE Teacher Candidates about classroom progress.
  • Complete documentation required for licensing and accreditation, including family conferences, reports, and curriculum support.
  • Participate in required licensing training and ongoing professional development as determined by the Center director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and less than 3 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred experience with Reggio Emilia–inspired work, emergent curriculum, and nature-based approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with peers and supervisors.
