Associate Director – Music Business Program Position Summary
The Associate Director is vital to the successful coordination and delivery of the Music Business Certificate program within the Terry College of Business. This position manages and coordinates all student and classroom delivery functions from the application process to alumni tracking, and contributes to major decisions about the overall direction of the program, including curriculum and outside activities. The role requires in‑depth knowledge of both the music industry and industry-related education programs.
Responsibilities- Provide advanced knowledge to the director for all aspects of the Music Business Program.
- Assist in the evaluation of program performance, curriculum, outside activities, and overall program direction.
- Access and update curriculum systems (PARC, CAPA) and student learning outcomes.
- Collect and analyze program data: student applications, alumni employment, employment metrics, and prepare reports for program committees and accreditation purposes.
- Schedule and coordinate classroom assignments: upload to Banner, verify campus locations, coordinate with UGA Registrar and Terry Facilities.
- Administer scholarships: oversee fund allocation, coordinate with business office, collect scholarship information, and communicate with students.
- Create and manage marketing materials: graphics in Canva, merchandise, social media (Instagram, Linked In), newsletters, and mailing lists.
- Plan and oversee events: graduation ceremonies, talks, mixers, career fairs, and alumni gatherings, including venue booking, logistics, and promotion.
- Supervise staff: approve timecards, payroll, review performance, and provide training support.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director of the Music Business Program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and at least 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the music business industry and music industry‑related education programs.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with students, faculty, staff, industry professionals, and artists.
- Proficiency in technology and graphic design tools.
- Effective communication with students, faculty, staff, and industry professionals.
- Extensive knowledge of the music business industry.
- Proficiency in technology and graphic design.
- Standard office environment.
- Occasional travel.
