Associate Director of Academic Integration

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Academic Integration, this position is responsible for collaborating with academic departments, faculty, and administrators to integrate institutional career readiness competencies into the curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, as well as partnering with the Office of Instruction, Student Affairs, and other campus units to strengthen co‑curricular career pathways. The Associate Director provides analysis and implementation for initiatives that align career development with institutional goals and accreditation standards, using data to inform strategy and demonstrate impact.

This includes the design and implementation of scalable programs, workshops, and in‑class activities. The Associate Director serves as a liaison to faculty, employers, and external partners to create meaningful career‑related experiences for students and provides training and mentorship to staff and faculty engaged in career integration efforts. The Associate Director creates toolkits, resources, and professional development opportunities that equip faculty to incorporate career readiness into their teaching.

The Associate Director assesses the effectiveness of career integration efforts through faculty feedback, student learning outcomes, and institutional metrics and reports results to stakeholders while utilizing data to refine strategies for deeper academic alignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in higher education, student personnel administration, counseling, or related field.
  • Career services experience is preferred, specifically experience providing comprehensive advising and career counseling related to career exploration and job‑related skill development with a focus on graduate students.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with faculty and students.
  • Knowledge of career needs, skills, and trends related to college students, general career development, and job market trends.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with referring faculty and administrators.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration and an ability to embrace and drive change and organize system‑wide resources to serve students.
Duties and Responsibilities

Analysis, Design, and Implementation

  • Conduct benchmarking studies with peer and aspirant institutions to identify best practices in career integration.
  • Lead large‑scale projects that embed career readiness into curriculum, advising, and student success initiatives.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful implementation.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including faculty, staff, and employer partners, to execute integration initiatives.

Percentage of time: 20%

Faculty Engagement

  • Lead development, enrollment, evaluation, facilitation, and marketing of programs for faculty. Lead initiatives that connect new faculty of academic disciplines with career pathways (e.g., discipline‑specific workshops, embedded career courses, faculty‑led career treks).
  • Create toolkits, resources, and professional development opportunities that equip faculty to incorporate career readiness into their teaching.
  • Provide consultation and support for faculty interested in aligning classroom content with employer needs and student career outcomes.
  • Lead strategic communications pertaining to promotion of faculty programing including but not limited to digital media in collaboration with Associate Director of Employer Relations & Communications and division communication specialists.

Percentage of time: 30%

Collaboration and Campus Partnerships

  • Partner with Academic Advising Services, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Experiential Learning, and other units to deliver a cohesive career ecosystem.
  • Coordinate with the Career Center's Employer Relations staff to connect faculty and students to industry professionals, alumni, and career opportunities.
  • Strengthen partnerships with offices focused on curriculum innovation, accreditation, and assessment.
