Position Summary:
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full‑time, tenured Associate or Full Professor position in Philosophy, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. Advanced Associate Professors with potential for promotion to Full Professor upon hire will be considered. This position includes leadership of the UGA Ethics Hub, a campus‑wide initiative housed in the Department of Philosophy and serving the entire University of Georgia.
The Ethics Hub advances undergraduate and graduate education, interdisciplinary research, and public engagement in practical ethics and ethical reasoning across disciplines as part of a new General Education requirement, effective Fall 2027.
The responsibilities of this position are to carry out research; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Philosophy and the successful candidate’s area of scholarly expertise; supervise graduate and undergraduate research; and perform service to the department, college, and university. In addition, in leading the UGA Ethics Hub, the successful candidate will provide strategic and intellectual leadership for a multidisciplinary ethics initiative.
