Associate or Full Professor

Associate or Full Professor – Food Systems Innovation in the Department of Food Science and Technology and Poultry Science, University of Georgia. Tenure‑track (Open Rank).

Contract:

Academic (9 mo.). Expected start:
August 1 2026. Position open until filled.

• Develop and maintain an externally funded Research and Extension program in ingredients and food processing technologies related to meat and poultry products.
• Obtain extramural funding to support research and extension activities.
• Produce a strong record of scholarly activity and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Direct graduate students (PhD and MS) and postdoctoral associates.
• Develop an Extension program that complements current FST and PS programs and addresses stakeholder needs.
• Actively participate in service activities in FST, PS, CAES, and UGA, including global programs.
• Collaborate with faculty across colleges to promote interdisciplinary research.

• Completed PhD in Food Science or a related field.

• Leading expert in poultry and/or meat science with emphasis on ingredient functionality, formulation strategies, and processing technologies.
• Track record of competitive, externally funded research and experience leading large multidisciplinary teams with industry or foundation support.
• Demonstrated collaboration with industry partners, regulatory agencies, and commodity groups.
• Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, product formulation, and processing methods.
• Ability to obtain external funding, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and build collaborative networks.
• Interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary competencies and willingness to engage in such teams.
