Minimum Qualifications:Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Position Summary:Writing Center tutors serve a wide range of student-athletes on an individual basis to provide assistance in all stages of the writing process and for any assignment, from FYC essays to graduate school statements of purpose. Tutors have rosters of students with whom they regularly meet and may also conduct walk-in sessions. Training is provided.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:Will read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Will write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, customers and the general public. Will solve practical problems and deal with random issues. Will interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
