Position Summary

Assist student-athletes in their academic endeavors by providing supplemental support. This part-time position requires academic mentors to meet with student-athletes weekly during regularly scheduled sessions to foster academic independence and encourage self-regulated learning. Pay is $15 per 1-hour mentor session.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group tutoring to student‑athletes in assigned subjects within the scope of UGA, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations – 40% of time.
  • Assist students in improving academic achievement in weekly meetings that clarify concepts, enhance study skills, and review class materials within the scope of UGA, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations – 40% of time.
  • File reports on sessions and follow all departmental policies – 10% of time.
  • Attend mandatory trainings – 5% of time.
  • Communicate with student’s other support staff team members – 5% of time.
Physical Demands & Requirements
  • Driving as needed to perform job duties.
  • Driving is a requirement of this position.
  • Position is not a Position of Trust and has no control of financial resources.
  • No direct interaction or care of children under 18 and no direct patient care.
  • No security access.
