Position: Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor - Open Rank

Position Summary

The University of Georgia School of Law invites applications to fill one or more tenure‑track or tenured positions at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor. The positions will begin in August 2027, with a possibility of a January 1, 2028 start date. Our curricular priorities include professional responsibility, torts, and bankruptcy/secured transactions. Applications from candidates who can teach in more than one of the above‑listed disciplines are especially welcome.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited Law School, Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Applicants should be committed to producing world‑class scholarship, providing first‑rate legal education, and engaging in meaningful service. Applicants seeking the rank of Associate Professor or Professor must have a demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. The School of Law is committed to producing world‑class research, so candidates should have an established track record of scholarly publications or scholarly potential.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and/or publish scholarly research (50% of time)
  • Instruct School of Law courses (40% of time)
  • Service commitment to public or Law School (10% of time)
