Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners in a K-1 self-contained classroom, focused on students with developmental delays. Work alongside a dedicated team—including two paraprofessionals—to foster academic, functional, and behavioral growth for a dynamic group of four kindergarteners and five first graders. This contract position is full-time and offers the opportunity to collaborate with a vibrant school community dedicated to inclusive, individualized education.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum Certification
• Certification across all core content areas:
  Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies (please provide credentials)
• Strong background in implementing and monitoring IEPs
• Demonstrated expertise with both general and adapted curricula
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management
• Experience collaborating with a range of colleagues and families
• Three completed reference checks required prior to interview (including one recent supervisor)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations
• Implement targeted behavioral and positive behavior interventions
• Differentiate daily instruction to meet individual student needs in multiple academic areas
• Regularly monitor and document student progress, ensuring compliance with state standards
• Work closely with administrators, related service providers, parents, and support staff to enhance student outcomes
• Maintain a structured, nurturing, and safe classroom environment
