- Earned doctoral degree (PhD, DNP , or equivalent) in nursing or a closely related field.
The Assistant Dean for Education serves as the Ivester School of Nursing's academic leader for educational programs and clinical track faculty, reporting directly to the Dean. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, implementation, systematic evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of all degree programs. The Assistant Dean for Education is a key partner to the Dean in advancing the school's educational mission and its commitment to developing a highly prepared nursing workforce for Georgia and beyond.
AdditionalRequirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current or eligibility for registered nurse licensure in the state of Georgia.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in nursing education, including demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, program evaluation, and faculty management.
- Demonstrated evidence of nursing accreditation processes ( CCNE or ACEN ) and familiarity with Georgia Board of Nursing regulatory requirements.
- Track record of successful faculty and instructor recruitment, mentorship, and evaluation.
- Teaching & Clinical Practice Expertise
- Integrates synthesis of evidence-based content with national/global perspective
- Leads complex multi-faculty courses and program-level curriculum
- Recognized as a clinical/practice expert nationally and/or globally
- Leads development of clinical practice opportunities for faculty and students
- Leads system-level quality improvement initiatives
- Presents and leads professional development activities nationally/globally
- Shapes policies in clinical practice or teaching nationally
- Demonstrates sustained trajectory of scholarly productivity
- Scholarship & Evidence-Based Practice
- Identified as an expert in topic or method nationally
- Disseminates scholarly work nationally and globally through invited presentations
- Publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals, often by invitation
- Professional Service & Contributions to Nursing
- Recognized as an expert in specialty nationally and/or globally
