Summary
The Repository Stacks Specialist is a temporary, 18-month position responsible to the Repository Coordinator for assisting with the general operations of the Library's remote storage facility (Repository). This includes shelving and accessioning incoming material, pulling items for circulation, and scanning items for electronic delivery. In addition, the Stacks Specialist assists with the training and supervision of part-time student assistants.
Work will be performed in a warehouse environment with rolling staircases, ladders, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts. Work will primarily take place in the UGA Libraries off-campus storage facility known as the Repository, located in Athens, GA at the intersections of Whitehall Road and Milledge Avenue.
This position has a limited term appointment which is expected to end 18 months after start date. The position may be extended beyond the initial term, contingent upon continued funding.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working in a library, warehouse, or similar setting.
- Ability to direct the work of others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated customer service attitude.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing work activities.
- Knowledge of workflow ergonomics and safety practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-task and team environment performing rotating tasks.
