The Director of Faculty and Leadership Development in Faculty Affairs supports the professional development of faculty and administrators while advancing institution‑wide initiatives and policies. The position reports to the Vice Provost for Academic and Community Engagement. The role includes managing personnel and budgets within the Faculty and Leadership Development area. The Director is responsible for researching, designing, delivering, and assessing development programs for faculty and academic leaders.

These programs aim to enhance excellence at the University of Georgia. Current focus areas include faculty success planning, mentoring, leadership development, productivity, and engagement.

The Director also evaluates program effectiveness and assesses development needs across the institution. Collaboration with faculty and administrators is a key component of the role. The position involves working with multiple campus units, such as the Graduate School and the Center for Teaching and Learning. Additionally, the Director serves as a primary faculty support resource and develops communications for various audiences through email, web, and social media channels.
