Position Summary

POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FACULTY MEMBERS IN THE COLLEGEOF VETERINARY MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA . The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs ( ADUP ) in the College of Veterinary Medicine ( CVM ) is a key member of theDean's staff and plays an important leadership role in the college.

The ADUP collaborates with the Dean on planning College strategic initiatives, goals and action steps for undergraduate programs and strategies to attain these goals. The ADUP provides administrative leadership and oversight of the CVM's undergraduate programs,including curriculum development and improvement; advising;enrollment management; student success and progress programs and student affairs; institutional assessment and improvement; human resources and faculty development, including summative andformative performance appraisals; budget and finance development and management related to instruction and Undergraduate Student Affairs;

and facilities planning and management.

The ADUP is expected to collaborate with the Dean, Associate Deans,Department Heads, faculty, and staff to develop effective support for teaching and active learning experiences. The ADUP oversees and coordinates review of all curricular elements in the college'sundergraduate programming and ensure effective use of instructionaland office support to attain College and University goals.

The ADUP is responsible for addressing student grievances; issuesand problems; provides leadership for any undergraduate assess mentor accreditation needs; and coordinates timely completion ofrequisite reports for the college, university, system, or other regulatory body. The ADUP serves as the Dean's liaison to variouseducational related committees and events at the college and university levels and coordinates various awards and recognition opportunities associated with undergraduate education.

The ADUP also coordinates with university scheduling as well as the College's Office of Academic Affairs and Graduate Affairs to ensure that instructional space and equipment for undergraduate programs are appropriate. Additionally, other duties will be assigned asneeded.
