The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) at the University of Georgia is dedicated to expanding the global reach of our institution's instructional, research, and service missions, facilitating the university's thoughtful and effective participation and leadership in the interconnected world of the twenty-first century. The position is an integral part of a wide variety and vibrant group of international education professionals passionate about their contribution to the overall educational mission of UGA. The Global Education Advisor works with the staff of the Office of Global Engagement's Global Education office. The position implements procedures and policies, including risk management, pertaining to international student mobility; counsels students by providing technical guidance and problem resolution before, during and after programs overseas, including faculty-led study abroad, exchange, affiliate and consortia programs, University System study abroad, external offerings, work, internships, research, volunteer and service learning experiences;

provides information to student in one-on-one and group formats via advising appointments, email, phone, social media, informational events, and publications; promotes international opportunities on UGA campus and beyond; assists with training student staff; and works closely with faculty and staff throughout campus involved with study abroad.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

• Strong written and oral communication skills, including:
  • Ability to prepare and present workshops for students and faculty
  • Ability to prepare promotional materials related to study abroad
