This position is intended to provide the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory with a staff level position to coordinate with local high schools, colleges, and universities to develop resources and outreach material as related to SREL's core mission and the SREL undergraduate experiential learning program, and recruit for a variety of programs offered at SREL for undergraduate students. Additionally, this position is intended to provide the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory with a staff level position to coordinate SREL undergraduate experiential learning program, coordinating logistics and day to day operations of this competitive summer program.

• Demonstrated oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated experience with the organization and implementation of student programs at the high school and/or undergraduate level
• Knowledge of basic ecological principles
• Ability to work as a part of a team and collaborate with others to reach programmatic goals and outputs

Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 lbs;
Ability to stand and sit throughout the day; ability to work with a variety of animal ambassadors and settings.

• Lead the organization, logistics, and implementation of the SREL undergraduate experiential learning program each year by working closely with SREL faculty, students and staff to organize logistics of the SREL undergraduate experiential learning program, including participant stipend and travel reimbursement, participant transportation needs, workshop content and scheduling, assignment of summer research experiences, end of program participant presentations, and participant work‑life events.

  Percentage of time: 50

• Deliver outreach and recruitment presentations to undergraduate students at local high schools, colleges, and universities. Prepare and deliver talks for the general public as well as for recruitment of undergraduate students into experiential learning programs at SREL.

  Percentage of time: 25
