Overview
Work Environment: 60% Field / 40% Remote
We are seeking Make Ready Field Technicians/Engineers to support joint‑use pole engineering across Georgia. This role combines field data collection with post‑engineering analysis to ensure compliance with NESC standards and utility owner construction requirements.
You will travel to work locations, gather field data using GIS/Make Ready tools (IKE or Catapult), and complete deliverables from home or the office. All field work is performed from the ground —
no climbing or heavy labor
, aside from general outdoor conditions.
- Perform onsite upfront engineering, post‑engineering verification, and post‑inspection fieldwork.
- Identify and document construction issues, NESC violations, and required make‑ready work.
- Provide clear directives for pole attachment construction in accordance with power company standards.
- Use GIS/Make Ready software (IKE/Catapult) for data collection.
- Review engineering packages and assist with job closeout accuracy.
- Determine when additional work locations, permits, or pole replacements are required.
- Communicate respectfully with property owners to gain access when needed.
- Track production units, mileage logs, drive time, and weekly hours for bonus eligibility.
- Work independently and meet weekly production targets.
- Valid driver’s license + reliable vehicle
- Clean MVR (3–5 years)
- Must pass drug & background checks
- Able to work >40 hrs/week when needed
- Comfortable with short‑notice overnight travel
- Strong computer proficiency
- High‑speed internet for remote work
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Strong communication and independent work skills
- Ability to read maps, perform basic math, and follow detailed construction standards
- Must meet weekly production expectations
- Work is spread across Georgia
- Overnight travel generally 1 night at a time (per diem + lodging covered).
- After training, work can be completed fully remote (field + home office).
- Minimum 40 hours; unlimited hours available if work volume allows.
Company‑provided:
- Laptop
- IKE device or Catapult (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
Employee‑provided:
- Vehicle + valid driver’s license
- Personal cell phone (for internal communication and occasional property owner contact)
- High‑speed internet for remote work
- Hourly: $22–$30/hr DOE
- Production Bonus: Weekly, same rate for all levels (performance‑based)
- Overtime: Available when approved
- Mileage: Paid when task requires travel
- PTO + Vacation + Holiday Pay
- Health Insurance: Company covers up to $500/mo; remainder paid by employee
