The Engineering Assistant works closely with the Facilities Engineer for University Housing. The primary purpose of the position is to assist in engineering projects as assigned, assist in crisis management situations, and enforce university and departmental policies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in engineering analysis, including reviewing data, making engineering calculations, drafting, and other engineering tasks.
- Conduct research into solutions for specific engineering challenges within the department and report findings both orally and in writing.
- Assist in producing reports outlining project progress or recommendations.
- Develop and assist in presentations for engineering projects.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of work accomplished.
- Must be accepted into the College of Engineering.
- Must be enrolled at least on a half‑time basis at the University of Georgia.
- Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
- May not exceed 20 hours of work per week, except when classes are not in session.
Driving as needed to perform job duties.
Other Conditions of EmploymentBackground investigation required, including a criminal background check and credit check. The candidate may be subject to a pre‑employment drug test.
