Bowman has an opportunity for a Designer IV, Instrumentation & Controls (Oil & Gas) to join our team in Houston, TX.
OverviewDesign, develop, and analyze control systems, instrumentation, and related equipment. Design components and terminations for complete instrumentation interconnect wiring diagrams, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality. Create detailed designs, plans, and specifications for the construction and installation of new systems, as well as the modification and upgrade of existing ones while working closely with a team of engineers and project managers. This will involve coordinating with the design team to ensure all aspects of the project are addressed, and that the final designs are accurate and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Additionally, you will be engaged to participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting and scope management.

- Provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
- Coordinates and consults with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
- Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
- Present design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
- Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
- Supports proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required.
- Work is highly independent. Prepares, reviews, and approves instrumentation equipment, conduit, and wiring BOMs and designs. Prepares, reviews, and approves HMI layout and Network Architecture Diagrams.

- Bachelor's or associate degree or equivalent preferred.
- Seven or more (7+) years of experience.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.

- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Partially indoor professional office environment which may include exposure to bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
