Logistic Coordinator II – Building Construction Products Division (Athens, GA)
As a Logistic Coordinator II, you will work independently and on teams to perform duties that maintain and improve engineering processes in an operations environment. The position is located in the Athens logistics department, which is actively involved in automation projects to decrease costs at the facility.
Responsibilities- Ship outbound racks to suppliers.
- Process outbound shipments for Tool and Gage, IQA, Operations, and Engineering—including creating BOLs and maintaining documentation.
- Schedule outside carriers (TOCS) for shipping.
- Develop and maintain the processes, tooling, and equipment required for logistics and packaging.
- Engage with operations to ensure SAP processes meet standards.
- Troubleshoot daily process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.
- Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements to reduce cost.
- Estimate costs for repairs, equipment, materials, and installation to assess feasibility and ROI.
- Collaborate and participate in multifunctional teams.
- Provide cross‑shift support as necessary to support production.
- Work with vendors to purchase equipment for process improvements or logistical changes—providing design information, reviewing proposals, and serving as the primary company contact.
- Supervise outside contractors.
- Create technical specifications and functional requirements for facility‑related projects.
- Provide periodic reporting on standard operating measures.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Project, etc.).
- Successful completion of the Caterpillar Non‑Management Selection Process 2‑Year Degree or equivalent, or two years of related experience in Materials Operations, Packaging, or Planning.
- Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Willing and able to perform repetitive operations.
- Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Willing and able to drive material handling equipment.
- 1‑3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or project environments (including internships, co‑ops, apprenticeships, military service, or similar).
- Strong project management skills.
- Experience with SAP.
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain engineering drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis on day‑to‑day problems.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of functions performed by skilled‑trade personnel.
- Experience with lean manufacturing (Green Belt).
This is a 2nd‑shift position with an entry pay of $30.29 per hour (includes an 8% shift differential). No relocation benefits are available.
Pay Range$28.05 – $35.09 per hour.
