Our Medical Device client is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineering Scientist consultant. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing in-line process analytical methods using NIR flow cell/sensor and instrumentation to monitor chemical processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with expertise in spectroscopy methods and a strong background in chemical engineering or chemistry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement in-line process analytical methods using NIR, IR, Raman, or similar spectroscopy techniques.
  • Set up, calibrate, qualify, and maintain spectroscopic instruments and sensors for process applications.
  • Analyze data generated from spectroscopic instruments to monitor and optimize chemical processes.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D and manufacturing, to ensure the successful integration of analytical methods into production processes.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and provide technical support for spectroscopic instrumentation and methods.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and quality standards.
  • Document and report findings, methodologies, and results to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s or PhD preferred)
  • Expertise in NIR, IR, Raman, or similar spectroscopy methods, particularly in process analytical technology (PAT).
  • Proficient in instrument setup, calibration, qualification, and data analysis.
  • Preferred experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing; R&D experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
