Position Summary
Financial Analyst II in the UGA Foundation’s Financial Accounting and Reporting team. This role supports financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis for the Foundation’s unrestricted resources, properties, and insurance activities. The Analyst collaborates with the Associate Director and other stakeholders to provide clear, accurate financial information for decision‑making and oversees data integrity across ERP and analytic tools.
Responsibilities- Create and update internal metrics, analytics, and projections for the unrestricted budget.
- Collaborate on annual budget development and provide data‑driven recommendations.
- Maintain data integrity as the lead gatekeeper of unrestricted financial data and work with ERP and analytic tools.
- Design, implement, and maintain campus reports related to unrestricted funds.
- Record and update accounting entries, investigate accounting issues, and provide explanations.
- Assist in budget processing through the University’s Financial System.
- Develop, report, and coordinate financial initiatives, dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Support financial reporting for external/internal audit and tax reporting.
- Provide backup for Financial Accounting duties such as journal entry recording, ledger reconciliation, and transaction adjustments.
- Monitor vendor contracts, expenditures, and maintenance schedules for Delta Hall and Oxford properties.
- Process payments and manage vendor selection, bids, and contract execution.
- Coordinate property taxes, insurance payments, and long‑term debt reporting.
- Prepare insurance premium invoices, reconcile transactions, and maintain policy records.
- Maintain fixed‑asset schedules including real property, equipment, and depreciation.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and at least 2 years of professional experience.
- Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in higher education, not‑for‑profit, or foundation settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and dashboards.
- Experience creating financial reports and analyzing trends and variances.
- Experience navigating large data sets and using data‑analysis tools (e.g., Qlik).
- Familiarity with ERP accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the University of Georgia.
- Standard office environment; primarily computer‑based work.
- Schedule:
8:00 am–5:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. - Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds and perform light manual tasks.
