Athens Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity to help lead a growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to underserved communities throughout Northeast Georgia. The CFO serves as the organization's senior financial executive, providing strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial reporting, revenue cycle oversight, grants management, compliance, and long-term financial planning.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team, the CFO plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's financial sustainability while supporting ANHC's mission and strategic priorities. Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare finance leadership experience
. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or other community health center setting is strongly preferred.

Experience with
Blackbaud Financial Edge or other Blackbaud financial systems is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising overall maintenance of accounting and cost accounting records for financial transactions of all programs, in accordance with the funding agencies requirements and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Providing supervision, training and evaluation of the accounting system, internal controls and general fiscal and business management, to assure accuracy of tracking all business activities.
  • Assisting the CEO or his/her delegate in the preparation of the overall budgeting system, implementation of budgets and a budgetary control system whereby all revenues and expenditures are allocated for and charged to a specific expense category, department and funding source.
  • Preparing and submitting financial and statistical reports including invoicing to the funding agencies, and other required reports in accordance with the funding agencies requirements and policies and procedures established in this area by the ANHC management and Board of Directors.
  • Monitoring expenditures and cash flow and prepares cash flow projection and monthly reports as required and in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors in this area.
  • Coordinating all business units and assures an adequate control system is in place to secure all assets and liabilities of ANHC.
  • Preparing special reports as directed by the CEO and/or the Board of Directors and communicate budgets to each department head and assure that reports are produced on a timely basis.
  • Assuring that proper procedures and controls are in place in the areas of purchasing, inventory, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and bank reconciliation. Recommends changes as needed to achieve the above.
  • Assuring corporation maximizes revenue from payors and patients by maximizing billing rates and collections in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Participating with leadership team in strategic planning and develop financial models and fiscal planning objectives to assess feasibility of short- and long-term goals.
  • Developing policies and procedures on purchasing activities and prepare vendor and management reports analyzing purchasing practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining system of accounts.
