The UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG) – Who We Are

CVIOG is a Public Service and Outreach unit that supports the university’s public service mission by helping to create jobs, prosperity, and leadership, and by addressing critical issues. We provide impartial support to local governments and state agencies, and convene multidisciplinary groups to plan for and address challenges across Georgia. Our focus includes workforce and economic development, infrastructure and community resilience, government operations, measuring and reporting impact, capacity-building for government leaders, and leveraging technology and data.

Our programs include PROPEL, Cyber Arch, and other initiatives to build capacity in Georgia communities. We are growing and seek individuals who share a commitment to public service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science and 2 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in technical writing; minimum of five years of NEPA documentation experience preferred.

The position performs and completes daily NEPA reviews on DPW work orders, service orders, document reviews, and internal NEPA projects. It assists in preparation of NEPA documentation for federal projects, provides environmental review for federally funded construction projects, and prepares NEPA documents for government review/approval. It coordinates environmental analysis for actions including MILCON, SRM construction, renovations, real estate out-grants/in-grants, contamination disclosure, training, and building disposals.
