Intelligence Analyst
the Intelligence Analyst is responsible for performing work related to the collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination of criminal intelligence and criminal data to be utilized by the Sheriff’s Office. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position fall within criminal intelligence analysis. Criminal intelligence analysis involves gathering information from multiple sources, evaluating it, verifying its accuracy, and transforming it into viable intelligence to assist law enforcement in preventing crimes, making arrests, and gathering essential evidence for prosecution.
Responsibilities- Compile and analyze data using specialized software i.e. Cell Hawk, Formulytics, NIBIN, Pen Link, and Flock.
- Gather, analyze, process, and evaluate intelligence data from multiple sources to clarify and establish connections between people, places, and things.
- Provide criminal intelligence assistance in partnership initiatives with the US District Attorney’s Office, local DA’s Office, and other law enforcement entities.
- Updates and maintains intelligence and records management databases.
- Develops graphs, maps, and visual link charts to represent analysis.
- Generates and distributes reports, bulletins, memorandums, and summaries containing analytical information to requestors

The Intelligence Analyst should possess at alossenen minimum a degree from an accredited college or university; and/or two (2) years of analytical work in a law enforcement setting or related field, with exposure to spreadsheets and automated record keeping systems; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, masih skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Special Requirements- Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
- Must be fingerprinted, pass a polygraph test, and pass a background investigation.
- Skill in using word processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs.
- Skill in using computers, communications equipment, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to work harmoniously with County officials, County employees, other government employees, and the general public.
- Ability to effectively train others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize work and establish tracking procedures.
- Ability to identify and develop intelligence.
