Responsibilities- Cell biology techniques – flow cytometry, routine performance of clinical flow cytometry assays for diagnosis and research in veterinary samples.
- Receive, log, and process veterinary patient samples and acquire flow cytometry data.
- Communicate with laboratory clients about sample submissions.
- Maintain supplies and reagents to perform clinical flow cytometry assays and to maintain a database of clinical sample data.
- Ensure reproducibility of data and clear presentation of results.
- General laboratory maintenance – autoclaving, glass washing, stock ordering, inventory organization, preparation of solutions, and equipment maintenance.
- Molecular biology techniques – PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, electrophoresis, immunoblotting.
- Cell culture techniques – aseptic practices, maintenance, and reagents management.
- Minimum Qualifications: Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
