The Senior Hospitality Coordinator serves as the project lead, partnering with the Hospitality team to coordinate and execute ministry initiatives under the direction of the Senior Hospitality Director. This role oversees the planning, organization, and execution of seasonal Hospitality initiatives, ensuring project timelines and key deadlines are met.
The Senior Hospitality Coordinator also plays a vital role in recruiting, training, scheduling, supporting, and recognizing Hospitality volunteers. By developing and implementing strategies that strengthen volunteer engagement, this position helps foster a welcoming culture, promote long-term volunteer sustainability, and support the continued growth and effectiveness of the Hospitality Ministry.
Duties/Responsibilities- Serve as project coordinator for the preparation and execution of congregation-wide events, ensuring effective hospitality team support.
- Manage and coordinate volunteer support for major church events, including Christmas and Easter services.
- Coordinate hospitality-related requests, including but not limited to signage, website updates, event and volunteer registrations, and the creation and distribution of volunteer communications.
- Develop and distribute a weekly hospitality newsletter to an audience of 500+ recipients.
- Partner with members, florists, Communications, Operations, and Finance teams to coordinate weekly Sanctuary Flower Dedications, including managing registrations, payments, invoicing, and bulletin approvals.
- Create and maintain volunteer TouchPoint scheduling and registration links for key services and events, including Sunday worship, Advent and Lenten services, Christmas and Easter services, and seasonal activities such as decorating.
- Act as the primary communicator for Sunday volunteers; assist in providing training, guidance, and role-specific information.
- Assist the Senior Director with volunteer engagement calendar, including training initiatives, promotional events, and biannual volunteer appreciation efforts.
- Work with Senior Director to review staff roles for Christmas and Easter services and help coordinate assignments.
- Help lead Sunday volunteers to support worship services by modeling and providing shadowing opportunities for new volunteers.
- Respond to inquiries related to Christmas and Easter registrations via designated ministry communication channels.
- Manage and maintain the hospitality volunteer database for registration and scheduling.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Ability to stand for extended periods as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds on an occasional basis.
